Rachel Pursglove works in a variety of media, including sculpture, performance, video, animation, collage and installation. Her work explores the relationship between the pre-existing, the present and the future. Rachel combines the playful with the absurd, often using appropriation as a means to extending the possibilities of an object or image. Her works can be seen as everyday encounters with reality, pushing the boundaries of both concept and material. Biography Rachel graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2014 with an MA in Fine Art Studio Practice. Rachel has had a series of exhibitions and residencies since graduating from her BA in 2012. She was selected to take part in ‘Rule of 3’ a residency programme based at Islington Mill in Salford in 2013 and a graduate show at International 3 Gallery in 2012. Rachel is now based in Preston at The Birley Artists Studios.
